A step-by-step guide about how to install Arch Linux
I was one of the less-than-five students who decided to brave the study world when I started my Computer Science studies, where all computers provided by the institute were running under Windows.
At that time, I was younger and wasn’t afraid of testing new things, so I decided to buy a laptop, remove the pre-installed Windows operating system and install a clean, fresh version of Debian, Ubuntu & Fedora. After a few months of testing each one of them, I stuck with Debian for years, as it was the most minimalist, fluent and fast of them.
More recently, I found myself in an unpleasant situation where Debian is not working with my modern hardware, and, much to my regret, I found myself in a position that forced me to use Ubuntu instead, a distribution is that full of proprietary software that comes out of the box with tons of crap that no one needs.
So, what happens with Arch Linux?
Being sick of dealing with an operating system that uses a large number of my computer resources (even knowing I have more than enough) made me think about what my alternatives are to get rid of that world and…
