A manifesto is a written declaration of the intentions, motives, or views of the issuer, be it an individual, group, political party, or government. And usually the authors of a manifesto are the ones that bring that concept to everyone.

Adopting someone’s own understanding and implementation (instead of following the tested and confirmed procedure that just works) doesn’t mean this methodology is useless or dead. It only proves the “forked version failed” but it doesn’t mean the original is a failure.

We can try to drive a car with squared wheels, but no one will think that’s a good idea, so I am sure you understand the metaphor I’m trying to highlight here.
